My part in the work
Infrastructure definitions and automation for provisioning, maintenance and upgrades. The work extended from cloud resources to Kubernetes workloads and their delivery processes. Later, I continued working with the team remotely from Vienna as a contractor.
The boundary that matters
Existing infrastructure already has identity, dependencies and operational state. Describing it in code is different from building a new environment. A change must account for what already exists and which other components depend on it.
What I bring to subsequent work
Treat the transition as an engineering problem in its own right. The target architecture is not enough: intermediate states need to remain understandable. Repeatability, clear change ownership and a reviewable plan matter more than taking the largest possible first step.
